DREAM HOME

WEEK 7: THE UNVEILING OF NSW DREAM HOMES AND THE GRAND WINNERS OF DREAM HOME

As we’re about to wrap up our journey in Dream Home with the grand reveal in the vibrant city of Sydney, our contestants have crafted masterpieces that perfectly marry elegance with functionality. From the Coastal Mediterranean comfort of Belrose to the 5-star luxury vibe of Punchbowl, the revealed homes are truly remarkable.

BELROSE HOUSE - COASTAL MEDITERRANEAN COMFORT IN THE SUBURB OF SYDNEY

In Belrose, Lara and Peter’s home has been transformed into a true Mediterranean beauty. Jordan and Jacintha’s incredible renovation received praise by the judges, with Simon’s iconic “Wow, wow, wow” reaction. With masses of street appeal, the all-white exterior with its stunning arches, rendered façade, olive trees and a cosy swinging day bed to welcome guests, the original home is almost unrecognisable. “I just can’t believe it’s the same house, from all that red brick and now it’s a white out,” said Lana.

Entering the front door, the entry hall also won the hearts of the judges who appreciated the functional design choices and instant wow factor.

Brad and Mel’s final spaces to make-over included an upstairs living area and six-year-old Mia’s bedroom. Transforming extra useable space near the upstairs landing into a second living room provided more areas for the family to relax and enjoy time together. Simone commended the wall niches that add visual interest and seamlessly match the wall colour and furniture choices. Here, Luxaflex® Sheer Curtains in Kendra Artic were chosen to diffuse the light and add an organic softness to the room.

Mia’s bedroom was updated into the perfect haven for the young daughter of Jordan and Jacintha. Butterflies and florals set the scene, with variations of soft pink and coral dominating the colour scheme. Luxaflex Sheer Curtains in Kendra Artic feature a soft, lightweight woven fabric that elegantly diffuses sunlight to naturally brighten up the room while also retaining some daytime privacy. The curtains are teamed with Luxaflex® Duette® Shades in the colour Sheffield, offering an elegant window covering that will keep the room warm in winter and cool in summer.

For 10-year-old Leo’s bedroom, Rhys and Liam made the bold decision to paint the wall and ceiling into an intergalactic cave with a computer station that every boy would be thrilled to have. Window coverings were kept to a minimum with Luxaflex Duette Shades for energy efficiency paired with Luxaflex Sheer Curtains.

The kids’ bathroom, also renovated by Rhys and Liam was designed to provide a spacious area for now and into the future as the children grow. Terrazzo tiles were the hero in this bathroom teamed with Luxaflex Duette Shades in on-trend Elan fabric in a warm luminescent hue.

PUNCHBOWL HOUSE - LUXURY ELEGANCE AT HOME

First impressions count! The judges could not hide their excitement when they saw the total make-over of Jordan and Jacintha’s Punchbowl house that now looks like a sophisticated European styled home. Central to the transformation is the addition of two Luxaflex Evo Pivot Arm Awnings over the front windows. Made from canvas in the rich colour, Mombassa, they tie in perfectly with the striking oversized front door, window trims and balcony railings. “The awnings are magnificent,” said Simone.

Upstairs in the living room, sisters Elle and Taeler perfectly transformed a small space into a multi-functional rumpus room for the whole family to utilise. Despite being small in size, the sisters managed to make it look harmonious and spacious enough for everyone. Luxaflex Sheer Curtains in Ivy Lace adds a layer of softness, and Luxaflex Roller Blinds in the Walton fabric with its unique aesthetic in soft Canvas colourway, were chosen to complement the classic interior settings.

Final stop in the sisters’ area is Jordan and Jacintha’s five-year-old daughter Amilia’s bedroom. Amilia hadn’t had her own bedroom before so this one was truly special. The furniture, rich textures and warm coral and pink colour choices make the room look soft and magical. Lana loved the Luxaflex Sheer Curtains in Ivy Lace, saying, “I love the sheer curtains”, which were paired with Luxaflex® Duette® Architella® Shades featuring a honeycomb within a honeycomb for maximum energy efficiency, and perfectly complete the fairytale charm of the bedroom.

Moving on to the other children’s bedroom, Lara and Peter created a whimsical chamber for Jordan and Jacintha’s little girl. With soft colour choices, the room delivered two winning features for the two-year-old’s personal space. A built-in swing in the high ceiling room and a secret cubby hole built inside the wardrobe. The canopy around the bed complements the Luxaflex Sheer Curtains in Ivy Lace used for the windows. The couple also installed Luxaflex Duette Architella Shades for complete privacy when needed.

Lastly for Lara and Peter’s room for renovation is the upstairs bathroom. The judges all agree that the family will love the elegant finish conveyed by the choice of tiles and fixtures. The accent wall is striking and represents a luxury 5-star hotel bathroom. For complete privacy and light control, Luxaflex Roller Blind and Sheer Curtains were chosen.

THE GRAND WINNERS OF DREAM HOME AUSTRALIA

Rhys & Liam, Winners Dream Home 2024

As the curtains close on this season of Dream Home, three teams were eliminated after failing to secure enough scores to compete for the grand prize. The three teams who made it to the finals include brothers Rhys and Liam, couple Lara and Peter, and sisters Taeler and Elle. For their final challenge, each team had to transform their respective backyards. While everyone delivered exceptional results, only one pair could win the grand prize.

In the end, it was the Queensland brothers Rhys and Liam who garnered the highest overall score, with an impressive 37.5 points, surpassing the other contestants, and taking home the grand prize of $100,000.

As this season of Dream Home Australia concludes, Luxaflex played a crucial role in helping all the contestants achieve their goals. Luxaflex innovative designs and superior craftsmanship were instrumental in allowing the contestants to push the boundaries of their creativity and deliver stunning transformations that impressed both judges and viewers throughout the competition.
